1. Scope & contact
This policy describes the current Movie Scene website at moviescene.xyz and the data flows of the Movie Scene iPhone development app described here. Movie Scene is operated by Eateri, Inc., United States (“we” or “us”), the organization responsible for the personal information described here. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@eateri.co.
The website does not create app accounts, collect payments, or host a public discussion feed. App features are in development; a public download is not offered on this site. This notice will be updated when practices change.
2. Visiting this website
Cloudflare delivers and protects the site. To respond to requests and maintain security, its infrastructure processes technical request data such as IP address, requested URL, browser or device information sent in headers, time, response status, and diagnostic information.
Our website code does not install analytics, advertising pixels, session replay, a newsletter form, or nonessential cookies. Fonts, screenshots, and images are served from this site. The FAQ uses temporary page state only. See Cookies & storage.
Email links open your email app. We receive your email address, message, and any attachments only when you choose to send the message. These are used to respond, troubleshoot, and handle your request. Avoid including sensitive details that are not necessary.
3. Information in the app
Guest use
Your guest library, preferences, ratings, favorites, and notes are saved on your device. Guest use does not automatically copy that library or note text to an account. Online discovery, searches, and artwork requests still contact the services needed to load them.
Optional accounts
If you create an account, authentication processes your email address, password credentials, account identifier, and session information. Signed-in library sync stores movie classifications, ratings, favorites, selected streaming services, and movie metadata needed to restore your library. The app stores session credentials in iOS Keychain.
Private moments
Your own non-sample moment text, movie reference, category, timestamps, and edit/delete state can sync privately when you explicitly enable moment sync for that account on a device. The current app has an enable action, not a disable switch. For help stopping this processing or removing synced information, use in-app deletion or contact us. Private sync does not make notes public.
Community submissions
Public publishing is not open yet. Where a development build permits submissions, choosing Share with community creates a separate copy with a public name, text, category, and timestamp. Submissions and edits enter a review queue; only approved posts can appear publicly once publishing is enabled. Voting, reporting, blocking, and moderation decisions create associated records. Private notes are not automatically submitted.
4. Why information is processed
- Deliver the website and app, load movie information, maintain accounts, and sync the data you choose.
- Personalize movie choices using your classifications, ratings, favorites, and preferences. Current taste-based recommendations use app data; they are not decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
- Respond to support, privacy, deletion, and safety requests.
- Protect accounts and services, limit API abuse, troubleshoot errors, review submitted content, and comply with applicable legal duties.
Where a privacy law requires a lawful basis, necessary account and sync operations support the service you request; security and support support our legitimate interests in a functioning service, subject to your rights; legal requirements may require processing. We request consent where applicable, including before optional uses that require it. You can contact us to withdraw consent where consent is the basis.
5. Providers & sharing
- Cloudflare: website and movie API hosting, delivery, security, diagnostics, caching, and IP-based API rate limiting. Cloudflare privacy policy.
- Supabase: app authentication and account-owned cloud data, plus community submission and moderation records. Supabase privacy policy.
- Movie and image providers: movie searches and filters pass through our backend to the Streaming Availability API via RapidAPI. Remote artwork requests can expose your IP address and request headers to the image host. The movie-data request does not need your private note text or account password.
- Email services: support and account-service messages are processed by the email providers involved in delivery. This site does not enroll you in a marketing mailing list.
Opening a trailer, streaming link, or other external website subjects that visit to the other service’s policies. Your approved public submissions may be visible to other people when publishing is enabled. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to address abuse, protect rights, or resolve a security issue.
The current website has no advertising or data-sale integration. We do not use this website to sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention & deletion
Guest data remains on your device until removed or reset; device backups may contain separate copies. Account data is kept to provide your account until you delete the relevant content or the account. Pending changes can remain in an on-device queue until they sync.
Account deletion removes the account and associated active cloud data. Support correspondence and technical records may be retained as needed to resolve a request, maintain security, meet legal obligations, or address a dispute. Backup and provider-log retention can differ from active app data; deleting an account does not promise immediate erasure from every backup, export, or third-party copy.
Use the account deletion instructions, or email a deletion request. Signing out or uninstalling the app is not the same as deleting your cloud account.
7. Your choices & rights
You can use the app as a guest, review or change library entries, choose whether to import guest data, decide whether to enable private moment sync, and separately choose whether to submit a public copy. The library CSV export includes classifications, ratings, and favorites, but not private note text.
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision on a privacy request. We will handle requests under applicable law and may ask for reasonable information to verify identity. You may complain to your local privacy regulator. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

8. Security & international processing
The website uses HTTPS. The app uses authenticated, account-scoped access controls for cloud data and stores session credentials in Keychain. No internet service or device storage is completely secure; protect your device and keep account credentials private.
Hosting and service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Applicable transfer requirements and provider arrangements depend on the service and region. Contact us for information about a particular data flow; this notice does not claim that a particular certification or transfer mechanism applies to every provider.
9. Children
Movie Scene is intended for people aged 13 and older, and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If your local law requires a higher age or parental permission, those requirements also apply. Do not send personal information about a child through support or public submissions. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without a lawful basis, we will take steps to delete it. Parents or guardians may contact us with a concern.
10. Changes & questions
We will update the date on this page when the policy changes and provide additional notice where required. Material new data uses will be described before they apply. For any question, contact support@eateri.co.
